investing in people

What does authenticity mean to you? what does the word investing in people mean?

does it mean being authentically you? and if so, what does that have to do with investing in people?

Its a trend of what I have heard preached in churches. #bethechurch let your life be an example...invest in people. be authentic. people like authentic people.
the word means: of unidisputed orgin, genuine.

so how do you do that? to me, to be authentic and investing in people is just to invite people in your house, like maybe on a whim, like after church, when you see that friend, or someone you know, to have a meal, doesn't have to be fancy. to talk about life and just talk. you don't have to go all the way out. Authentic means being the genuine thing.

to me, sitting at a table and sharing a meal, could even be a bag lunch of sandwhiches, talking about what is on your heart, no need to share if you don't want to, but talking about life as it goes by, sharing it with a friend.
